  1.                       ABOUT BOB'S MACROS
  2.                       ------------------

  4.     Bob's Macros are designed to save you time in your use of Microsoft
  5. Excel and eliminate repetitious tasks.  The macros will increase your
  6. productivity every time you are in Excel.  The commands will save you
  7. anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes each time you use them.
  8. Added up over the course of a year that's a lot of time savings.
  9. You do not have to be an expert to use the macros.  They are designed
  10. for use by everyone.
  11.  
  12.     There are over 100 macros that comprise Bob's Macros.  These are
  13. macros that I use personally in my job and I thought it would be useful
  14. to you.  There is more to Bob's Macros than the list of macros that
  15. appear when you click on Bob's Icon.  Bob's Macros adds commands to the
  16. Excel menus found at the top of the screen, and to the pop up menus when
  17. you press the right mouse button.  These pop up additions you will find
  18. very useful in developing spreadsheets.

  20.     The macros range from the simple to the very very powerful.  All are
  21. designed for ease of use.  And, by the time you read this, they will
  22. probably be a lot more than 100 macros, plus enhancements to the
  23. original set of macros.  So, if you do register, I recommend that you
  24. also ask for the latest release.

  26.     By clicking on Bob's Icon or by selecting "Bob's Macros" from the
  27. toolbar menu, you can see a list of almost all the commands.  You
  28. can access many of the macros directly from the Excel Menus.  Also,
  29. additional commands have been added to the Excel pop-up menus that are
  30. not listed on the macro list.

  32.     Another nice feature is the repeat icon.  If you run a macro from
  33. the macro list, this icon is automatically customized to repeat the
  34. command!  And, if you highlight the icon, it reminds you what the icon
  35. is set to do.  Just another way to save you time.  Furthermore, you can
  36. assign any of the macros to icons or let Bob's Macros assign them to an
  37. icon for you!

  48. INSTALLATION
  49. ------------

  51.         Installation of Bob's Macros is very easy:
  52.  
  53. STEP 1
  54.  
  55.     If you are using Excel 5, copy the file BOBSMACS.XL5 to your Excel
  56. startup directory.  If you are using Excel 4, copy the file BOBSMACS.XL4
  57. to your startup directory.  DO NOT COPY BOTH FILES.  The startup
  58. directory is almost always named "XLSTART" and is almost always a
  59. subdirectory of your Excel directory.  Examples of this directory and its
  60. location are:

  62.               C:\EXCEL\XLSTART
  63.  
  64.               OR
  65.  
  66.               C:\MSOFFICE\EXCEL\XLSTART
  67.  
  68.     By putting this in your startup directory, it is loaded each time you
  69. load Excel.  This is extremely important, as Bob's Macros are designed to
  70. help you all the time while you are in Excel.  And if they are not loaded
  71. when you need them, you won't get as much benefit.

  73.     In case you are wondering, yes you can put the the files in a directory
  74. other than your startup directory.  But, we don't recommend it as the Excel
  75. menus do not have the new commands added until the macro file has been
  76. loaded.

  80.         Copy the file BOBSMACS.HLP to your Windows directory.  This help
  81. file is quite extensive and is provided instead of a manual.

  85.         Try them and you'll like them.  Then register!

  88. HOW TO REGISTER
  89. ---------------

  91.      When you register your copy of Bob's Macros, Macro Systems will send
  92. you registration instructions that will allow you full use of the macros. If you
  93. reguest the latest version ($5 shipping and handling extra), you will be sent a
  94. disk containing the latest versions for both Excel 4 and 5.

  96.     In addition to using the form below to buy Bob's Macros, you can also use
  97. it to order ReportRunner.  ReportRunner is a spreadsheet and macro system
  98. that prints reports automatically based on stored report setup information.
  99. Multiple reports can be printed just by highlighting the report descriptions and
  100. selecting print from ReportRunner's menu. See the section in the Bob's
  101. Macros Help for more details.
